About Us
In August 2001, two friends Brian Ward and Dineo Heilmann started a company called Pecan Creek Properties. Inc. In October of that year we purchased “The Tonkawa Motor Inn” and renamed it "Pecan Creek Lodge and RV Park." It is located at 1501 East North Avenue in Tonkawa, Oklahoma.
We remodeled all the rooms, two of the trailers and the main house on the property. Then we purchased three more mobile homes, two 2-bedrooms and one 3-bedroom. We hired Mike and Peggy Herrin (Brian’s sister and brother-in-law), who started working on the property. They keep the property in good condition, manage the complex, rent the rooms, clean and keep everything going for us.
We soon purchased another home on North 6th Street. At this property, Joann Ward (Brian and Peggy’s mother) helps out by doing laundry, answering phones and you might even see her riding on the lawn mower.
2006 marks our 5th anniversary of offering clean rooms at very reasonable prices for weekly rentals. We have regular motel rooms with full size beds, and one with two double beds, as well as microwaves, refrigerators and TVs. We have kitchenettes available, one with two double beds. We have small apartments (living room, kitchen, bedroom, bath), and we offer four mobile homes for rent by the week as well.
